After learning about our heating system inspection services, you may be wondering what exactly we provide during an inspection. Here is a quick overview of the comprehensive report and detailed analysis you can expect from Efficient Mechanical Systems Engineering:

1. Comprehensive Report: This is a detailed report covering all of the information below.
2. System Grade: We review every component in the mechanical room and home. We evaluate the age and wear on the equipment. We grade the various components and provide an overall grade for the system.
3. Problem Identification. We use our experience and knowledge to identify potential or existing problems with performance and equipment.
4. Cost Estimates for Future Repairs and Equipment Replacement: We provide ball-park cost estimates for future repairs and replacements. For large custom homes, boiler replacements can cost over $100K, so it is critical to identify these costs. In addition, these estimates can often be used during negotiations with the seller.
5. System Fluid Check: In our basic inspection, we check the pH, TDS, and glycol level on-site. For an upgraded price, we send the fluid off to a lab and have a complete analysis performed.
6. Zone Analysis: In our basic inspections, we perform a basic zone analysis, identifying the zones and their effectiveness. We also offer two inspection upgrades for the zone analysis. The first upgrade includes a thorough zone analysis where we check the manifolds and tubing footages. In the second upgrade, we also check each zone with a thermal imaging gun.
7. Control Analysis: We review the thermostats, boiler controls, zone controls, and more to determine their effectiveness.
8. Capacity Analysis: We determine if the system is adequately sized.
9. Efficiency Analysis. We verify that the system is set up for maximum efficiency. We also offer an upgraded analysis where we check the Combustion Efficiency of the boiler(s).
10. Noise Analysis: We evaluate the noise level of the heating device, and its carry through into the house.
